Tina Snover

Mesa County/FCA Sports - Director

For 30 years, Tina has been growing in her leadership and coaching abilities. For 18+ of those years, she has served on staff as a Director with FCA. As an FCA Director, she recruits, hires, and trains staff to oversee teams of volunteers. She has had the privilege of coaching soccer for ages 3-22 for various teams, schools and clubs. She is a joyful spokeswoman and has a deep passion for helping others find their giftings, skills and abilities so those skills can grow and be used to benefit others. She loves leading teams of people towards the greater good and is passionate about clear communication and strategic leadership in a positive environment.

Since 2014, Tina has led efforts to develop new branches of the FCA ministry into Western Colorado. From 2014 to 2024 the ministry impact grew from 3 to 65 certified FCA coaches and athlete huddles to also include the development of a new FCA Soccer Club. Tina now serves as our FCA Sports Director and also the Mesa County FCA Director. Her heart is to help make disciples that make disciples through the influence of sports.

Tina and David met through the FCA Ministry in 2000 and have been happily married since 2002. David serves as an orthopedic physician assistant at Western Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Community Hospital and also serves on our CMU FCA Board of Advisors. They have two beautiful and very active teenage daughters (Brenae & Lizzie) that love that Lord, love playing sports and love FCA.

FCA’s vision is to see the world transformed through the influence of coaches and athletes. That is a vision that I can get behind! Coaches and athletes have so many incredible opportunities at the tips of their fingers and my goal is to work each day to show them how to take those opportunities and use them for the kingdom. Billy Graham once said, “A coach will impact more people in one year that the average person will in their entire lifetime.” My prayer for each coach is to help them see the amazing influence they have and what they can do with it if their focus is on God first. Regarding the athletes I serve, my prayer is that I can show them that their failures in a game, practice, the classroom, and life do not define who they are. Their true identity can be found in Christ alone, who loves them no matter what. Thankful to be a part of a ministry that wants to spread the word of Christ in a 487 billion dollar a year sports market that often gets caught up in ticket sales and the score board instead of the coaches and athletes doing their best to make a difference in a “me” centered environment.

"Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others." Colossians 3:23

Hi! I am newer to the FCA staff, but I am not unfamiliar with the ministry. I went to FCA while attending Fruita Monument High School and grew in my faith during some of the toughest years of wrestling with my identity in Christ. I played varsity tennis all four years of high school and now I am the JV tennis coach for boys and girls at FMHS. I have also worked with all ages of tennis players through the Mesa County Tennis program, and I have seen many patterns of thinking that negatively affect the way these athletes play. Many athletes put too much pressure on their achievements and their skill instead of celebrating their ability and rooting their identity in Christ. My goal as a staff member with FCA is to help coaches, athletes, and students find out who they are in Christ and root their purpose in something greater than what the world offers.

I have volunteered in youth ministry at Fellowship Church since 2019. During that time, God called me into full-time ministry and an opportunity to work with FCA came shortly after. I believe that we are called to make disciples and encourage one another that there is a greater hope and peace to chase after. My prayer is that FCA can be part of the change in Mesa County that continues to ripple and radically change people’s lives so that they know their worth and live more like Jesus for as long as they are here on earth.

Jesus will bring you joy, peace, love, hope, healing, and more because He created you for a fulfilling life that is overflowing with His goodness! I pray that you would help me share that truth with others who don’t know Jesus or those that don’t fully understand His love. We are all children of God, and we should all be pursued and discipled! Let’s make disciples of nations together!

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

Mesa County - Grand Junction High School Ambassador

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

I have lived in Grand Junction since I was 4 years old, I attended Palisade High school where I spent 4 years as a cheerleader. After graduating, my time was spent as part of several different youth programs, I was a cheer coach, a U10 boys soccer coach, vice president for Grand Mesa Youth Soccer Association (GMYSA), and youth pastor for Connection Church.

I currently work at Grand Junction High School (GJ All Day!) as an Attendance Secretary and I am honored to be the Huddle Coach at our school as well as a part time Ambassador for FCA. I am super excited to see God's plan for the future of FCA in the Grand Valley. I love being able to plant seeds and help youth grow their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Thank you for prayerfully considering sponsoring my FCA journey!!

Katie Johnson

Mesa County - Administrative Assistant

I am a born and raised Grand Junction native. I attended Palisade High School and was involved in soccer. I have run 3 full marathons and many other smaller races. I now get to be an athlete and a coach of CrossFit. I have always been involved in sports in some way but when I first heard about FCA and how we can incorporate Jesus in sport, I was in. I started my FCA journey by supporting staff members financially and prayerfully. I then joined the board and was part of it for a couple years. I am blessed to say that I am now on staff with FCA. Particularly, I am serving within the FCA Sports lane with Tina Snover and also serving with the Mesa County FCA Staff.

In June, I was offered this position to increase my influence through the vehicle of FCA. After seeing the impact FCA is having on the valley and through prayer, I felt lead to join Tina Snover’s FCA team as she serves Western Colorado in developing FCA Sports ministry.

I am also a youth leader at my church and an associate pastor with my husband. We have 2 wonderful teenagers and 3 fur babies. We love to pour into our youth because we believe that we have a duty to raise up the next generation and leave a legacy for them to leave for their next generation.

Shanelle Foster

Mesa County - Administrative/Marketing Coordinator

I was born and raised in Durango, Colorado where I got to grow up in the mountains, meet my husband and have our first baby there. It was truly a blessing. My family and I now reside in Richardson, Texas. Prior to having my own children, I was involved in youth ministry for 8+ years and got to see how God works and moves in the lives of young people. It was one of the most life changing and coolest ministries to be a part of. FCA wasn't in Durango when I was in school, but I have gotten to see it grow and thrive in our small town the past five years. I have been in total awe of God working in the lives of coaches, staff and students and it blesses my heart even from a far to see the work of FCA in all of Western Colorado.

I connected with Tina when she was the Western Colorado FCA Director and have been able to assist with marketing and social media needs for the past few years. While I am not boots on the ground with my role, I love being able to highlight what God is doing in Mesa County and how lives are being changed through the work of FCA.

It is a great joy and blessing for me to be able to serve Mesa County FCA as an Administrative Assistant! I grew up in the Grand Valley, and the Lord used a similar ministry when I was growing up to capture my heart. I know the power of a great leader walking alongside me as I came to know Jesus in a personal and life-changing way. The Lord has amazing things in store for FCA in our valley, and I am so thankful to get a front row seat. Thank you for considering supporting this ministry that so greatly impacts the youth and young adults in our community.

Colorado Mesa University- Area Representative

Since the fall of 2019, I have had the privilege of ministering on campus through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The campus of Colorado Mesa University is so near to my heart, and Nate and I feel so blessed to be able to build relationships with coaches and athletes that we feel called to minister to. The college years are incredibly formative, and we have seen many students involved with FCA decide to commit their lives to Christ. By going TO coaches and athletes on campus, in their practices, to their games, and more, they are reminded that the Lord is pursuing them in every single moment every day. The mission field on campus is SIGNIFICANT, with 28 varsity sports to reach and over 10% of our student enrollment being student-athletes. There is a great need for more prayer, more support, more staff and more funding to help reach every Maverick student athlete with the love of Christ. Thank you so much for considering partnering with our ministry through your prayer, encouragement and generosity.

I am so excited and grateful to be an Are Rep for the CMU FCA. I am originally from Arvada, Colorado, but Grand Junction has been my home for the past five years while I attended Colorado Mesa University and beyond. During that time I was blessed to become involved with FCA. Now that I have graduated, I can dedicate more time to the ministry. I get to focus my efforts on college students and love helping to disciple the different coaches and students so that they can effectively carry out God's will in their schools and communities. I am thankful that you would consider supporting me and the FCA mission so we can continue to spread the God's work in Mesa County including the CMU Community.

Some of my earliest memories are formed around the FCA huddles my dad ran for his high school students while I was growing up. I was lucky enough to be able to participate in my own huddles throughout middle and high school and then became heavily involved on the Colorado Mesa University Campus. For three years, I served as a student leader on campus as well as a huddle coach at several summer sports camps. Watching the Lord work through my classmates, teammates, and friends through CMU FCA has lit a fire in my heart to continue with campus ministry. My college years were incredibly formative for my faith, and I've watched many of my peers have similar experiences and decide to commit their lives to Christ. The Lord is on the move at CMU and I am so blessed and honored to get to be a part of watching him continue to capture and change the hearts of young men and women. Thank you so much for considering partnering with me and this ministry through prayer, encouragement, and generosity.
